Has it really been 3 months since I've updated? Oops. Real life finally caught up with me I guess. But I'm back and I have updates! First, I made a medieval dress for my cousin for her school's Medieval Banquet, which you can find on this page. I also made more clothing including a babydoll dress and a tank top I've taken to calling my braided tank. So 3 new items for now, but I'm planning on having more updates soon!
February 19
Sorry it's been so long since I've updated, school has kept me very busy. But I do have an update! This April there is a movie called "Penelope" coming out in theaters. I don't know much about the movie, but the costumes look fantastic. They're clothes you could actually wear, only whimsical. Anyway, I'm absolutely in love with the purple and orange coat that the main character, Penelope, wears during most of the trailer, so I made a study page for the costumes in the movie. You can find that here.
January 10, 2007
Sorry for the lack of updates, I am currently studying abroad in the UK until spring. Because I don't have any of my sewing stuff with me, I will not be working on any costumes until I get back. However, this is a perfect time to document more movie costumes, so as I have time I'll try to get pictures up. I'm going to try to do movies that are not covered heavily by other sites. Updates will be slower in the upcoming months, but there will be some.
And anyone making Susan's Archery dress from "The Chonicles of Narnia, the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe" might find this helpful. Ping over at Shiny Costumes is making the dress and has a diary showing her progress.

December 21
I updated the various Eragon research pages with quotes from the costume designer that were in the Making of Eragon book. I also updated with 3 new pictures on Arya's tan costume, and one of Angela.
December 18
I made a jumper for my 5 year old cousin for Christmas using the left over fabric from my boucle coat. It's sparkly and partly pink, so I hope she likes it. I made a page for it here. I also started making a corded corset to prepare for another Renaissance dress. That is located here.
December 10
Shurtugal.com has posted several higher resolution promo pictures for Eragon, some of which are of Arya. All of the pictures are ones that have been released before, but they are larger and of better quality. I updated Arya's pages with the pictures which you can access here.
November 26
I finished the boucle coat Wednesday night, just in time to wear it for Thanksgiving. I updated the page and moved it to the completed section. You can view it here.
November 18
After a week of telling myself I wouldn't, I finally caved in. I made a photo gallery of Arya's costumes from the upcoming movie, "Eragon". I told myself I wouldn't read the books until after the movie so I won't be spoiled for it, but that doesn't mean I can't look at all the pretty costumes! So here is my photo gallery on Arya's costumes from the upcoming movie, "Eragon".
November 15
I have been meaning to do this for a while, but I finally updated the Tristan + Isolde webpages with new high res photos of some of Isolde's costumes. You can find it here. I also put my patterns for the embroidery on Susan's Archery Dress on the research page.
November 12
I updated the boucle coat page with my progress. It's not much but you can find it here.
October 23
This past weekend I attended a bowling event that encouraged the participants to dress in costume. Like I am going to say no? So it was last minute, but my roommates and I decided to dress up as Aces. As in airplane pilots. You can check out the bowling night here. I also have started making a winter coat. It's not very far along, but here is my progress so far.
October 3
Wow, it's been a month since I updated. School is in full swing and I sadly have no time for sewing. However, I did finally upload the page about a tote/purse that I made back in early September. You can find it in the Not Quite Costumes Section or here, my argyle tote bag. I also noticed that some of the image links were broken so I started fixing those. There still are a couple that are broken, but I'll get to them.
August 20
I finally have pictures of me in the Red Floral Summer Dress so I updated it with the pictures and moved that page over to the completed section under "Not Quite Costumes".
August 17
Sorry for the lack of updates, I was out of town for a week and busy with real life. But I'm in the process of updating everything that needs to be updated. So far I have made a new page for my Red Pirate Outfit and updated Isolde's Wedding Dress page with an interesting comparison of costumes. Still to come: pictures of the finished Red Floral Summer dress and a progress page of Kaylee's Serenity Jacket that I'm currently working on.
July 29
I finished the archery dress! Huge updates on Susan's archery dress page including a gallery of photos of the completed costume from today where I wore it to the Renaissance Faire.
July 24
I made a large update on Susan's archery dress with progres and pictures. I also made a new page for a red floral cotton summer dress in the progress section of the site. This is actually a dress and not a costume, but I needed a new summer dress so I decided to make one. Enjoy!
July 11
Various updates including pictures of the new pirate outfit, picture of me in the Rum Island Shift at the midnight showing of POTC 2, and an update on the archery dress.
July 4
I updated Susan's archery dress page with my latest progress though it's not much. I also updated the Pirate page with information about my new bodice. I have one picture up there, but none of the finished bodice. I'll try to get one up soon.
June 23
I finished the embroidery on Susan's archery dress and that page is now updated with a picture.
June 19
You may have noticed that I haven't updated in almost a month. That's because I was in England on vacation. But I'm back home now and sewing away. I updated Susan's archery dress page, and I will update the pirate page soon, as I finished making a mock-up of the bodice. More updates will come soon.
May 22
A fairly large update today. I made a new page for a Superman costume that I made for my brother to wear in his school's variety show, I actually worked on the Elizabethan corset so that page is updated, and I posted some pictures of the horn on Susan's archery dress page.
May 18
I updated Susan's archery dress page with my sleeve embroidery progress. I made up my own pattern by looking at pictures of the sleeve, finding some shapes and making it up from there. So it's probably only 30-50% accurate, but it looks good to me. I'll post the pattern I made soon, I just want to clean it up a bit so it scans nicer.
May 15
I've been busy sewing and I updated both the pirate page which I've made a new skirt for, and Susan's archery dress which I worked on the green outer sleeves.
May 12
I am finally revealing my "secret project" that I have been working on since about March. Oh I'm not just going to tell you what it is, you're going to have to go to the Completed section and then to the Replica section to see what I added.
May 3
Once again, I have more updates that have nothing to do with my personal sewing. But I added about 20 new scans to the Delineator magazine site. As I get more I think I'm going to have to start a new page, it's getting pretty image heavy. Anyway, enjoy them because I probably won't have any new scans for a week and a half because exams are coming up.
April 30
I finally scanned a few more pages of the Delineator Magazine, so they are now up on the page. 2 more weeks and then school is done. Hopefully I will then have some sewing updates instead of just research updates.
April 27
I finished updating the Tristan + Isolde Photo Gallery, so check it out. Again, it's mostly Isolde's costumes but there are a few others.
April 26
I saw Tristan + Isolde for the first time yesterday and I absolutely fell in love with Isolde's costumes. So I decided to make a picture gallery of them. I currently have pictures from the Special Features on the dvd which I have capped on a page in the Research section. Eventually (hopefully soon) I am going to try and cap some of the shots from the movie itself of the costumes. The gallery focuses on Isolde's costumes, but there are others under a miscellaneous section. Hopefully more will be up soon!
April 23
I finally got the scans of a 1902 magazine up on their own page. I found this old magazine in a drawer in the costume shop in my school's theater department where I work. I started paging through it and found it was full of pictures and articles of women's clothing in 1902. So I started making scans of the pages and uploading them here. There are about 12 pictures now, I will have more eventually, I need to find a scanner at school first. But I have the pictures that I scanned up under the "Research" part of the site. I have super high-res scans if anyone wants them. Just let me know and I can email them to you.
April 20
Well, Since I'm not getting very much sewing done, I might as well work on the website right? I finally got the gallery together and uploaded, so all the pages should now be funtioning. In the gallery, I basically have 1 picture of each costume, just so they are all in one place. There are more pictures of each costume on their respective pages. Those can be found in the "completed" section of my site. So I hope everything should be up and running now, if it's not, let me know!
April 9
Sorry there haven't been any updates, I've been very busy with school. I did get the research page up, with my new page on Susan's Archery Dress. The other reserach link is to my old research page on Violet Baudelaire. I didn't feel like moving all the pictures over to this site, and the old site won't let me hotlink. So it leads to the old site.
March 21
Well, not everything is up yet, but I am declaring this site open! The completed, in progress, and future sections are all up. I still have to organize the gallery, so that might take a while. Otherwise, most of the stuff should be up and working. Please let me know if there are any broken links or problems. All the updates from my old site can be found in the archives.
March 11
Put in the back lacing of the archery dress. I'm almost done with the secret project, hopefully I can reveal that soon.
March 7
Oops, I forgot to mention that I updated the archery dress page yesterday. I got the main body of the dress put together. Next on the list is to figure out the back lacing and fix the fitting. Then maybe start on the sleeves. I also got the main body of the secret project together tonight. But I'm not saying any more about that dress ;)
February 28
3 more days until spring break where I get a whole week of sewing! There will be major updates then, but for now, I decided randomly to make Kaylee's outfit from Firefly. So I made a page for her costume in the progress area. I also cleaned up a bit on the website, but nothing too noticable. I am working on a reference page for Susan's dress, but I don't know when that will be done, hopefully soon. I am also working on a secret project, but I'm not going to post anything about it until it's done. Because that would ruin the secret. Stay tuned next week for more (and better) updates.
February 1
Well, no new costume news to report, I've just been cleaning up the site a bit. I realized that the Christmas shirt only linked to the picture instead of the making of page, so I fixed that. And I put a new picture up on this page. Other than that, I'm waiting for spring break to work on Susan's gown, so no new updates.
Oh! I totally forgot, this past January 13th was the one year anniversary of my site. This information is not important in any way, I just felt like stating it. Yay me. Or not. ... Back to work...
January 13
I updated Susan's page a bit. I'm going back to school tomorrow, so there probably won't be much progress or interesting updates. I'm going to try and get her gifts (the quiver and horn) done by March. The rest of the dress I need done by July. So we'll see how the progress goes.
January 6
I made a page for Susan's Archery dress. I also worked on the sleeves tonight. Those are complicated. Yet strangely fun. Hmmm.
January 5, 2006
Well, a late happy new year to everyone! I finished making version 2.0 of River's costume and I updated that page. I also began to make Susan's archery dress from the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe. I'll make a page for that soon.
archives 2005
December 24
Merry Christmas to everyone! I added a shirt I made last night to the Not Quite Costumes section. I made it to wear for Christmas so I figured I'd add it today. Have a great Christmas and holiday season!
December 23
I finally updated the River page with pictures of the boots which I have painted and a new sweater I bought for the costume. I'm still working on the skirt.
December 2
Well, it's December and I have no updates to share. I've been slacking on the costuming front because of school. Once exams are over and Christmas break is in full swing I plan to be costuming up a storm. Hopefully there will be actual updates within the next two weeks.
November 21
Updated the River Safe page with the boots I bought on ebay. They are the coolest boots ever!
November 5
I updated most of my finished costume with more professional looking photos of my costumes. Check them out.
October 28
Violet Baudelaire is finished and updated! I moved it to the completed section. I also created a page for the River Tam costume I made because I am insane. Wow, I'm done with all my big costume projects. Onto the next ones... hmmm, now what should I make?
October 17
Updated Violet's page again with today's progress. I also made a new page in the completed section for my Blue Sun shirt.
October 16
I updated Violet's page, the main part of the bodice is done! Now onto the sleeves...
October 3
I am horrible. I haven't updated in over a month. School has kept me extremely busy, and I am slowly but surely progressing on the Violet costume. It needs to be done for Halloween, and so it shall be. I'll get progress pictures up soon. I promise.
August 16
Updated progress on the Violet dress and the Elizabethan corest.
August 9
I'm back from Germany, now back to costuming!
July 25
I updated the Violet page with pictures of my progress. I also just wanted to let everyone know that I will be going to Germany for 2 weeks. I am leaving on Thurdsay so there will be no updates or progress on my costumes until I come back.
10 minutes later: I just did a major update, including moving the Cavalier Hat to the finished section and adding pictures, reworking the Pirate page because I didn't realize it wasn't updated, and I will be getting my Elizabethan corset page working in a matter of minutes.
July 18
I switched the Coronation dress to the completed page as well as updated it with pictures of the finished crown. I still need to get some pictures of me in full costume with the crown. I also updated the Pirate page with new pictures from the Renaissance Faire. A Violet Baudelaire page is now up in the In Progress section. I will be moving the cavalier hat to the completed section as soon as I get some pictures of the hat.
July 4
Happy 4th of July! I know I know, I'm horrible, I havn't updated in forever, but I do have progress pictures of the Coronation crown, and I have began making Violet Baudelaire's dress from ASOUE so I will make a page for that soon.
June 16
I know I haven't updated in forever, but big news! I have finished Arwen's Coronation dress! It is still listed under the "In Progress" section because I still have to make the crown. But the dress itself is finished! Pictures on the page.
June 4
My Pirate Outfit is finished! I moved it to the completed section. Now all I need to do is finish the hat to go with it!
May 30
Happy Memorial Day, and a huge thanks to those who gave their lives to defend our country. I updated the pirate page, I finally got back to working on that costume. Otherwise not much, my goal is to have the pirate costume done by next week, and then it's time to finish the Coronation gown.
May 22
I updated Arwen's Coronation page. I am making quite a bit of progress on the dress. I also bought fabric for my pirate outfit, so expect updates on that soon. My goal is to have most of the pirate outfit done by the end of May. You can see my progress on the Coronation dress here.
May 17
I finally updated this page! I added a write up on the medieval outfit I made my cousin under completed costumes. When I get farther on Violet's outfit I'll add a write up for that, but right now I have nothing to show except my first bodice muslin, which I am going to change anyway. So That will be comming in the future along with a write up of this Elizabethan corset that I for some reason decided to start making.
May 9
All costumes are on hold for exam week, but I did add pictures from The Costumer's Guide to Violet's study page, which I have been meaning to do for a while. You can access Violet's page under the Misc. section of the site. I also finished the medieval costume for my cousin, but I haven't had time to make a page for it yet. After exams I will update again.
May 6
Sorry for the lack of updates recently, but I've been really busy and come Monday, it's finals week. Not much to say, right now I'm trying to finish a medieval costume for my 6th grade cousin for a banquet at his school. As soon as that's done I am going to finish my coronation gown. Oh yeah, and I made the muslin for Violet's bodice last Saturday and forgot to upadate on here. I still need to make the final muslin with the tabs on the bottom, but I like how it turned out. No pictures since I left my camera at school. I'll try to get some this weekend.
April 28
I bought the asoue dvd and I made page for the anaylisi on Violet's dress that I want to make. It can be found here: Violet's Fantastic Dress.
April 23
Huge updates! I put pictures of the finished yoke and underarm piece on Arwen's Coronation page. Big news: I completed both my Farawyn costume and Eowyn's Green Dress! Both costumes have been moved to the completed section and have pictures of me in the finished outfits. Check them out, I think they both turned out quite well.
April 20th
I don't have any pictures since my camera is out of batteries and I can't find any around here, but I finished embriodering and beading the yoke of Arwen's Coronation dress. I also began sewing on the lace and emboridering the pieces of material that go on the sides of the underdress. I'm done with one, beading, squiggles and all. I need more bugle beads, I am out with 1 and 1/2 lace pices to go. As soon as I can find some AA batteries, I will post pictures.
April 16th
I finished the new layout! My last layout was horrible, I couldn't take how bad it looked anymore. I like this layout much better. Anyway, I feel very accomplished now that this is up and running. No new costuming news, I'm still finishing those papers for school.
April 11
Sorry there hasn't been any updates, but that's because there is nothing to report. School has taken over much of my time lately, so for a few weeks I don't think I'm going to get much done. I did put a picture of the finished front section of the yoke on the coronation page however. And I also noticed that the cotton gauze is back in stores so I have to get some of that for my pirate outfit. And I also started fixing the boning in the pirate corset. Otherwise, it's going to be awhile before I get anything done. I blame school.
March 28
Still on vacation, so not much new. I finished the embroidery and most of the beading on the front part of the yoke, but no pictures yet. Their comming soon, I promise. Otherwise, not much else
March 20
So I have most of the stuff sorted out for now. All the links and pictures *should* be working. Let me know if anything isn't. Sorry about the side menu moving up and down, I can't figure out how far down it needs to be. When some ads pop up it's too high, other times it's too low. Give me time, I'm new to this, I'll try to sort it out. Also, I made a guestbook, so check that out and sign it if you have a moment, feedback is good. Nothing new costuming-wise, too much homework today.
March 19
A couple things. 1) Geocities is being dumb, so I am in the process of swtiching some of my webpages to bravehost.com, so I appologize for any bad links, pictures that aren't showing up, and the general difference between the two pages. I have no idea why, but geocities said I had too much data transfer this morning, which is crazy because I know my site doesn't get nearly enough traffic to even be close to that. So I'm switching some pages over to bravehost. (It also gets rid of that annyoing ad banner on the side that distorts the page). 2. In costuming news, I'm almost half way done embroidering the front section of the yoke on the coronation dress. I still have the sides to do once I'm finished, but it puts me in a good mood to see how far I've gotton. This website thing on the other hand....grrrrrrrrrrr.
March 13
As Sam would say, "Well, I'm back". I'm home from my vacation and here to update you on my costuming. I made major progress again today on the Coronation gown, I also found I like making icons. (See journal for details). Check out the coronation page which has been updated and the misc. pictures page which has the icons on it.
March 5
Well I have bad news and good news. The bad news is I have stopped with the Picnic Dress. Maybe forever. I just do not have the funds, time, or motivation to get it done by May 19th. So I have decided to stop that costume, convert what I have done into other things, and return the stuff I didn't need. It is very sad, because I hate not finishing something like this. I just realized that it must (however reluctantly) be done.
But now for the good news! I have made huge progress on Arwen's Coronation dress. Huge as in I made the underdress finally. Now I am working on the yoke and the muslin for the overdress. Updates on the Coronation page.
March 1
I hate not having a lot of updates, but there really aren't that many. I updated the picnic page, although no new pictures. Same goes for the coronation page. I hope to get more done over spring break next week.
February 24
I progressed further on my picnic dress and added a few more pictures. I'm currently messing around with the website because something about it bugs me. I haven't figured it out yet, but I'm sorry for any broken links or confusing pages that may be happening in the next few days.
February 22
I finally finished fraychecking! I updated the picnic page but thats about all.
February 21
Not much new again, still fraychecking the fabric. still. I got the gold crinkle for the coset but I still need to get pictures up. I really really need to start making progress, but this just takes so long! I'm going to try to make more progress this week.
February 17
Not too much here, still fraychecking the edges of the material. There's alot more material than I thought. I still need to draw the vining and the flowers on the rest of the chemise and sleeves. I really have no new updates.
February 13
Mucho news to tell!! I got my green velvet today!!!!!! I also bought some gold chiffon and tan fabric for the picnic outfit! So I am all ready to start costuming again. And I finished the beading of both coronation sleeves a while ago, but I never updated. I updated the FIER page, the Coronation page, and the Picnic page with pictures and updates.
February 8
Well, its offically started. I began my Padme Picnic corset and started a page for it. Right now you can only access it from this home page because I don't feel like going through and adding the link to all the pages yet. Eventually. Also I finished beading one sleeve on my coronation dress! *celebrates* So that is comming along nicely too. I also added the page of pictures of me to the side bar. Again, it's only accessable through the homepage. I think that will stay that way until I move the pictures to a permanent home. I actually got alot more accomplished today than I thought I would. Now if only I could say the same thing about school work....
February 6
I updated the FIER page with lots of pictures! Also an updated status on that outfit. It's nearing completion! I think I have convinced myself to make Padme's Picnic dress. Let the obsessive frenzy begin.
February 5
I opened my sword and mug!!!! I was so excited that I had to dress up in a costume and take pictures of me being an idiot. You can see me being a fool here. On the costuming front, I still don't know what to do about Revenge of the Sith. Not much else.
February 4
Bought green velvet on ebay, I just have to get the money order and send it. (I hate not having a credit card, I need one) Not much else new. I finished with the bugle beads on one sleeve, and I have one more flower outline left on the second. Then it's back to the pearls, which I still need to buy. My sword and mug that I ordered came on Monday, I'm finally going to be able to see them today! I'll take pictures as soon as I get home. Otherwise that's it.
February 1
Started beading again. Wow, it looks bad. Hahahaha, oh well. Not too much to update. 1 new picture of the lacing in the Fier outfit. 1 new picture in Arwen's Coronation dress. Thats about it. Ebay seller finally emailed me back, we'll see how this goes. I'm back to beading.
January 27
I'm adding Arwen's Coronation Gown to the menu. I finished the lace one one sleeve and am starting the next one. Hopefully they will both be done with the lace by this weekend.
January 25
I finally got started on my Arwen Coronation gown! I'm starting on the sleeves tonight! Pretty soon I'm going to add the page to the side menu, but until then, check my progress out here. I'm excited, tonight is a sewing and LOTR movie night!
January 22
Last night and today it snowed snowed snowed. So I couldn't go and get any fabric or materials. But that's ok because I made so much progress today. I made a muslin for my Arwen Coronation Gown, I started and got pretty far on my Fier costume. I even made a Fellowship cloak with all the time I had left over. And I got pictures of it all up and everything updated on here! Today was a very sucessful day. Tomorrow hopefully I can go and get all my materials for the coronation gown. Here's a list of everything that was updated for easy access:
Fier Costume
Arwen's Coronation
Fellowship cloak
And I put pictures on my Black Cloak page.
One more thing, the cloak page is now split into two cloaks, my black one, and my fellowship one. Clicking on the cloak link will take you to a menu page. Just so you're aware.
January 20
I'm so excited! I just submitted my Shieldmaiden costume to Alley Cat Scratch for their scrapbook. It probably won't be up for a while but I don't care. I love that website. I have a coupon for Handcock fabrics, if it doesn't snow too much in the next two days, hopefully I'll be getting the velvet on Saturday!
January 19
Man, I'm going to have to make an archive page soon for all my updates. Intenet was down all last night and this morning. Nearly drove me mad. Anyway, now that it's back up, I posted pictures on the pirate and cavalier hat page. They are all linked so you can see the full size picture. I also fixed the picture of the shoes I bought for Arwen's Coronation gown. That's all for now. Can't do much on the costume scene until I get fabric, patterns, or a sewing machine here at school.
January 18
I have dove head first into this Arwen costume, so I've decided to start a sudy page on it. Well, it's a study page and also my way of getting organized and figuring out what I have to do to make mine match the real one as close as possible on a budget. It has one picture so far and a link to Alley Cat Scratch's page for some real studying, otherwise it's just my planning page. You can access it here.
January 16
Well I have materials to start my Female Ithilien Elven Ranger dress, I have a page for it, but as I haven't started on it yet, I'm not going to put it on the sidebar until later. You can see my progress here.
As for other news, Arwen's Coronation gown has moved up my list of things to do. All I'm waiting for is a sale or a coupon for the velvet. I have to get the shoes I saw at payless, maybe I can convince someone who has a car to take me to the mall. heh heh heh.
Updated my future costumes list and the pirate costume. Still have to do the cavalier hat, cloak, and links pages. They'll be up soon....I think.
January 14
More things are working! There are now pictures on the Green Elven dress page, the Rosie Cotton page, lots of pictures on Eowyn's Green Dress page, and soon to be on the shieldmaiden page.
January 13
Update! Im so proud of myself, I started on this site and today I accomplished alot. The Green Elven dress page is now up, Rosie Cotton is up with pictures. Shieldmaiden is up and so is Eowyn's Green dress with 1 picture! lol, more are comming. Maybe tomorrow, I'm too tired tonight. Most of the pictures are uploaded, I just have to add them to the page. Like I said, maybe tomorrow.
